Since 2002, the laparoscopic unit at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has implemented an enhanced recovery programme (ERP) for their patients. This has produced excellent results with a shortened post-operative stay and a very low re-admission rate. The faculty now hold regular courses in Yeovil Academy to share their expertise with a wider audience. These courses are complimented by laparoscopic theatre practitioner training for colorectal surgery. Other new developments this year include education for the use of laparoscopic ultrasound to detect biliary calculi during cholecystectomy, coaching for medical, digital video production and a practical laparoscopic surgery workshop for Severn Deanery trainees. 1st INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENHANCED RECOVERY - 9th - 10th September 2010 We are delighted to announce this exciting event, which will take place in Bristol on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September 2010.
